Individual tuition is available for any child who wishes to study music

We have highly qualified and experienced music teachers who work closely with children, encouraging a love of music and a sense of discipline in their efforts. As children achieve various milestones they are presented at assembly time to perform for the whole school. Twice a year the school holds a music soiree where children who have achieved a level of excellence within their age group are given the opportunity to perform for parents and fellow musicians. All music students have the option to prepare for the annual music exams through Trinity Guildhall or Royal Schools.

Grade 4-7: The school has two Marimba Bands. Children who wish to play in the bands audition annually. The band leader allocates successful musicians to the senior or junior bands. Forres Marimba Bands have been invited to play at functions outside of school and are always a highlight at various school functions.

Choir (Senior)

Grade 4 – 7: Children are auditioned annually. Commitment to the school choir is for the whole year. The choir performs in our annual school production, Celebration (prize giving) and at the soirees. Our choir has been invited to perform at key functions outside of school including a wedding, a ISASA conference and in mass choir performances.

Sport & Extra-mural Programme

Forres is partnered to specific clubs and sports centres where children may join and participate in their chosen sport or extra-mural activity. A daily shuttle service is offered to and from these venues. These activities are outsourced at extra cost and are optional.
